January's cold snap had us hunkering down in our favorite dive bars and ingesting far too much sorbet and tequila to avoid getting the flu. But we still found time to explore the decaying old Loew's Kings Theater, enjoy this year's Idiotarod and explore the authenticity of yet another version of NYC on the small screen. What's next? Throw on your Subway Tights, spark up an NJOY and get down and get funky with February. Here are twenty fun things for your to-do list.

Outdoor films aren't just for the more temperate seasons, and this month Citi Pond at Bryant Park will be putting on their Winter Film Festival every Monday for warmly dressed cinephiles. This year's theme is the movie musical, starting off with Walt Disney's classic Peter Pan on Monday, February 4th, followed by Singin' in the Rain on the 11th, Chicago on the 18th and finally Grease on the 25th. Movies begin each evening at 7 p.m. and you can either bundle up with a blanket on the rink or, if you don't like your toes getting froze, order up some dinner and watch from inside Celsius.Every Monday in Feburary; films begin at 7 p.m. // Citi Pond at Bryant Park // Free
He's back this month, and with friends! Nitehawk Cinema's Midnite Movie lineup for February reminds us that Robots Will Kill, with screenings of The Terminator plus Robocop—for the more politically engaged, straight-forward robot science fiction fans. Then there are two others: Demon Seed and Lady Terminator, which should successfully reawaken the (hopefully) dormant fears of violent bio-technological convergence and your Cronenbergian body horror nightmares. Demon Seed deals with a plan to impregnate a woman with an advanced A.I. program and Lady Terminator is some terrifically low-budget Indonesian take on James Cameron's classic, complete with an ancient curse and nasty sea monsters - check the trailer for a taste. (Marc Yearsley)Fridays and Saturdays in February, midnight // Nitehawk Cinemas // Tickets $11
Multi-talented singer, composer, playwright, actor, and musician Cynthia Hopkins has been bewitching audiences for years with her hard-to-classify theatrical extravaganzas. Her most recent shows have filtered elements of her autobiography through an idiosyncratic kaleidoscope of music and narrative, sending herself to outer space and back with her strange stories, which can sometimes feel as serious as a heart attack while slipping on a banana peel. Her latest production, titled This Clement World, steps back a bit from the personal to present "a poetic perspective on global climate change."Premiering at St. Ann's Warehouse in DUMBO on February 5th, This Clement World features original avant-folk songs performed by a seven-piece band and a choir, documentary footage Hopkins shot on an Arctic expedition with Cape Farewell, and Hopkins's creation of three fictional characters on-stage: the ghost of a Native American woman of the Cheyenne tribe who was murdered during the 1864 massacre at Sand Creek; a neutral alien observer visiting from the far reaches of outer space; and a child from the not-so-distant future who has traveled back in time to visit the present. Here's the trailer:Tuesday, February 5th through February 17th // St. Ann's Warhouse // Tickets start at $25
