Last week Tall Hands played our Movable Hype show, since then we've seen them one more time. Yes, twice in one week, they are that fun! Mix a little bit of an up-tempo Velvet Underground sound with some Maker's Mark, add ice and shake nicely - and you'll get something that resembles this bands live show. A sound that amidst all the live energy, comes out crystal clear through the chaos. Rhyming, sleigh bells and self-dubbed as "Boat Rock"...we highly suggest checking these guys out.
Watch their video for Three Full Virginias, here. And check them out at one of their upcoming shows in December: Southpaw on 12/3, the Friction party at Sin-e on 12/13, Mercury Lounge on 12/22.

Let's get this out of the way, where did your band name originate?
Justin: We were given a deadline to change our band name for a compilation that we were going to be on. Anyone who has ever had to name or rename a band knows it's a terrible experience. We were racking our brains for days and one of the last nights we had I fell asleep with my computer on my lap. That night I dreamed of a bunch of midgets in a really large dark tunnel chanting, "Tall Hands, Tall Hands," in strange voices.
What is your first conscious memory of living in New York?
Justin: I was about four years old, and there was a fair going on around the block from my house called "the Bizarre." I wanted to go, but my father wouldn't take me, so I peed on his bed, his shoes, and his closet.
What is your favorite place to drink in NYC, and what's the best night to go out?
Jordan: Iggy's in L.E.S., Turkey's Nest in Brooklyn, whatever night we're going out.
Now its time for some fill-in-the-blank action
"You know you've made it when…"
Justin: you have enough money to hook up the whole crew.
"It'll be time to pack up the gear for good when…"
Jordan: only after we befriend the Gallaghers.
"I'll never forget the first time I…"
Both: shoplifted
"I'll never forget the first time [insert another band member's name here]…"
Jordan: [Tim] tried to shoplift with us and got busted with a bottle of Joop at TJ Maxx.
