THE ART OF THE BRICK at Discovery Times Square is a captivating exhibition of intriguing works of art made exclusively from one of the most recognizable toys in the world: LEGO® bricks. It's the world’s biggest and most elaborate display of LEGO art ever, including the iconic pop culture favorite “Yellow,” a life-size sculpture of a man ripping his chest open with thousands of sunshine-yellow LEGO bricks cascading from the cavity. Also on display are a seriously impressive 20-ft T-Rex dinosaur skeleton and a giant skull, both, of course, made entirely from LEGO bricks.
The mastermind behind the critically-acclaimed collection of creative and inspiring LEGO art is renowned contemporary Artist Nathan Sawaya, who transforms LEGO bricks into tremendous and thought-provoking sculptures, elevating the toy to the realm of art.
The New York Times writes, "It is difficult to walk through this exhibition and not smile in amazement... the playfulness is contagious" and CNN included it on their Top 10 "Must See Global Exhibitions"—see what everyone's raving about! Now through January 5th, 2014.
