It's closing weekend of the fifth annual Brooklyn Comedy Festival, which includes some great Thursday night options before it officially becomes the weekend!

On Thursday the first 100 people to arrive between 6pm-8pm for Elite Daily’s Generation Why?! 8pm comedy showcase will receive a token for a free Jameson Caskmates + beer. Following the showcase will be Brooklyn Comedy Festival After Party by Emo Night Brooklyn! (Tickets to the comedy showcase and after party must be purchased separately.)

If festival goers can't make it to Williamsburg, Dave Hill's 100% real email chain with a Norwegian black metal record label owner is brought life in Witch Taint: The Black Metal Dialogues LIVE! at Union Hall.

On Friday afternoon parents can take children to the Brooklyn Superhero Supply Co. in Park Slope for the festival’s kids workshop where students ages 8-13 will learn how to write jokes and perform them from professional comedians.

Friday night Refinery29's comedy arm RIOT is presenting A Night of Really Funny People in Brooklyn at Littlefield, while down the street at Union Hall Your Love, Our Musical will be improving a musical based on the love story of a couple in the audience.

On Saturday afternoon at Knitting Factory the festival’s Writers Panel will be focused on diversity in late night writing and is sponsored by NBC.

Saturday evening's main event is a very special closing night Surprise Party Comedy Show! at the Brooklyn Bazaar to celebrate the festival turning 5-years old, with performances by some festival favorites.

For brunch on Saturday and Sunday, comedy film shorts will screen at Nitehawk Cinema in Williamsburg.

There are additional events throughout the weekend at Union Hall, Local 61, The William Vale, and The Bell House. For complete schedule and ticket links, go to bkcomedyfestival.com.
