If you've ever had a fantasy of being chauffeured with all the luxury and style of the early 20th century, then you're in luck today: to promote the upcoming 3rd season of Boardwalk Empire, HBO has sent out a few vintage cars around the city, which you can (digitally) hail for free unti 6 p.m. today! Sadly, there were no fireballs involved.

We hitched a ride in a beautiful 1937 Rolls Royce Phantom to work this morning, as you can see above. Ours was the 52nd car in a total production of 200. Its restoration took six years, and currently it's most frequently used for weddings (though a Chinese government VIP requested the car last week).

As part of the promotion, if people download Uber (you'll need to give them a credit card) on their iPhone or Android, they can select the "HBO" option and attempt to request a vintage car pickup. We tried to order one from our office in Brooklyn and were told none were available ("Sorry for the inconvenience. Please try again soon!")—maybe it's easier from Manhattan? Then again, only nine vintage cars are circulating.

Boardwalk Empire does love the old-timey cars:
