New York City icon Fran Lebowitz has teamed up with her longtime friend and fellow New Yorker Martin Scorsese for a new docuseries called Pretend It's A City, in which Lebowitz dares to ask hard-hitting questions like, "Do you think it's fair to bring a book into Times Square?"

The series (the duo's second collaboration) shows straight-shooter Lebowitz traversing the city — from Midtown to the Queens Museum — and unloading her "no-nonsense observations" (Scorsese also gets in front of the camera at times). The result, the press release tells us, is a "furiously funny guidebook every New Yorker has at one point wished for... with a classic urban voice on subjects ranging from tourists, money, subways and the arts to the not-so-simple act of walking in Times Square. (There is a right way to do it.)"

Ultimately, it's an homage to Lebowtiz's curiosity, independence, incredible wit, and the city she loves. We're extremely into it.

Enjoy it in your home starting January 8th, 2021 on Netflix.
