Hitfix's Drew McWeeny has been writing a weekly column on SNL and the movies, evaluating sketches-turned-films and stars' post-SNL careers. This week, he uncovered a screenplay for The Saturday Night Live Movie, a never-made anthology comedy film satirizing the movie-going experience. Written in 1990 by an all-star cast of writers including Conan O'Brien, Al Franken, Robert Smigel, George Meyers, and Greg Daniels, it features sketches mocking then-President Bush (41), a parody of E.T. and "Bum Piss Canyon," an "American Geographic"-style special that "traces the titular canyon through New York City, shooting rivers of piss in various gutters like a majestic natural wonder. And then there's an apology for showing that to the audience. And that's pretty much that."
