Earlier this year a reader spotted a tourist group coming off the Bedford Avenue L in Williamsburg. So it shouldn't come as too much of a shock that there's now a course at FIT called "Williamsburg, The New Style Frontier." Or at least, there was on October 24th.
Should they choose to offer this important course again, here are some details. It costs $55 (food and subway fare not included in the price), and promises to put you smack dab in the middle of the disaffected, cultural vitality of the gentrified neighborhood (which they claim is referred to as "the New SoHo").
Students (by the way, there is no credit for this course — figuratively or otherwise) are encouraged to "Browse through vintage clothing and housewares that will inspire future fashion and lifestyle trends. Discover up-and-coming artists in Brooklyn's diverse galleries. Sample a great selection of restaurants, coffee houses, and family-run bakeries."
Soooo, basically, you just paid a $55 subway fare. [via FreeWilliamsburg]
