Last year New Year's Eve almost came to a screeching halt when everyone wondered how in the world the 2010 novelty glasses would be designed. You can't see through a "1"... and now there are two 1s. Remember Y2K, well think of this as Y21. In other words, WTF IS GOING TO HAPPEN! The Wall Street Journal asks just that in their profile of the original glasses designers, Richard Sclafani and Peter Cicero... who quit the game last year. The paper notes that "by quitting the New Year’s glasses business the founding fathers have conveniently dodged the most vexing design challenge in the 20-year history of the field: 2011." Well, all they really needed to do was use the Google machine to dig up some ideas (pictured).
