Yesterday afternoon SPiN hosted an event that tested the table tennis skills of FDNY firefighters. After some competitive rounds of ping pong against each other, the winners of the tournament were then placed head-to-head with the Bryan Brothers.

Bob and Mike Bryan were 2012 Gold Medalists in the London Summer Olympics for Men's Doubles, so it's no surprise that the less-practiced FDNY members didn't prevail in the end, even though the brothers played with their hands held. But the battle did culminate in a $25,000 donation made by the Bryans on behalf of NESQUIK to support the FDNY Foundation, a not-for-profit that promotes fire safety in New York City and health and wellness training of FDNY members.

Photographer Katie Sokoler was on hand, with strict instructions to snap any photos of shirtless firefighters/Olympians... but apparently SPiN is air conditioned or they just weren't playing hard enough. Click through for the action—Sokoler notes that the Bryan brothers enjoy a good chest bump... and that their Olympic gold medals were "really heavy."
