What would have been the late, great Adam "MCA" Yauch's 48th birthday is coming up on August 5th, and fans are planning a pair of events to celebrate his life. This Saturday, August 4th (which actually marks three months since Yauch's passing), organizers will lead a walking tour of Beastie Boys landmarks around the city starting at 9 a.m., which will be followed by some drinking.
Photographer Michelle Lawlor tells us she'll be on hand "documenting both the landmark tour and also doing set-up BBoy-style shots of the fans at said landmarks." They'll be hitting up everywhere on the map we created earlier this year, as well as the Gratitude mural that went up after Yuach's passing. If you don't want to be tagging along with what could be a large crowd, however, just strap on your ear goggles and roll at your own pace—they've even created a very detailed list of locations (PDF), and their significance (PDF).
Following the walking tour, around 8 p.m., the group will head to Overlook Bar on East 44th Street for a fan hang, which you can RSVP to here.
