Yesterday was pretty much a perfect day to celebrate Holi—and turn into all the colors of the rainbow! The 6th Annual Holi Hai Festival attracted a happy crowd outside of Dag Hammerskjold Plaza in Midtown Manhattan yesterday.
Photographer Gretchen Robinette explained that the main goal of the event, organized by the NYC Bhangra Dance Company, is to pay tribute to bright colors and and the warmth of spring—and throw the colored powder and dance. There were also musical and dance performances.
And if you want to get in on the Holi action, there's the Festival of Colors in Brooklyn on Saturday, May 9, at The Yard (The Cultural Performing Arts Center) at 1020 East 48th Street. There are still tickets.
