Did you watch E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial on your mom's lap in the movie theater when it first came out... you know, at least the parts after E.T. is shown laying the gutter? Well now you can go back and see it on the big screen as an adult (bring your Xanax prescription for all the anxiety you'll still feel when those men in the white suits come for him!). E.T. turned thirty years young this year, and on October 3rd the 1982 classic will return to the big screen.
The anniversary event will take place Wednesday, October 3rd—there will be 2 and 7 p.m. screenings at select theaters nationwide (you can get a full list here). We're told "the event features the all-new, digitally remastered feature film, as well as a special taped introduction by TCM host Ben Mankiewicz, who will take audiences through the making of this modern classic," along with Gertie (aka Drew Barrymore).
