If you're going to be rushing through Grand Central Terminal at some point this holiday season, we recommend you carve Take some time out to slow down and visit the NYC Transit Museum's annex at Grand Central, because their 15th Annual Holiday Train Show is up and running!

Lionel trains, including the Grand Central Express, Metro-North, Pennsylvania Flyer, Polar Express, and vintage subway train sets run along a 34' long, two-level O-gauge model train layout in the center of the space. The trains depart, of course, from a model of Grand Central Terminal on their way to the North Pole, all against a backdrop by artist Julia Rothman (it was designed for the Museum's 40th anniversary).

The show is free and is open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and runs through February 26, 2017. The Transit Museum's Grand Central Gallery Annex & Store—yes, you can also knock off some holiday shopping at the same time—is located off the Main Concourse in the Shuttle Passage.
