If you see someone who looks suspiciously like Hermione Granger would as an adult, nonchalantly placing books in the subway system, then it is probably Harry Potter star Emma Watson.
Watson is a book fairy with Books on the Underground, a London-based group that puts about 150 books in the Underground a week for commuters to enjoy. Here she is, paying it forward last week in London:
Watson is in NYC, to bring copies of Maya Angelou's Mom & Me & Mom:
Today I am going to deliver Maya Angelou books to the New York subway. Then I am going to fight even harder for all the things I believe in.

She has also included notes:

Watson, though a British citizen, was hopeful for a Hillary Clinton victory; last month, she Tweeted, "In the last US election, 70 million women cast ballots versus 60 million men. Women, your vote could swing this election."
