The Grinches at the New Jersey Italian American Legislative Caucus want to put an end to the most important reality show of our time! 1010Wins reports that caucus chairman Joseph Vitale has sent a letter to the president of Viacom saying that Jersey Shore "promotes derogatory ethnic stereotypes of Italian Americans and is 'wildly offensive.''' Who knew Italian Americans were so sensitive; this is totally not how we thought they were after watching The Sopranos for so many years.

Vitale, following UNICO's lead, has also asked advertisers to boycott the show. Meanwhile, cast member Snooki has fully embraced the G-word, and is still captioning photos on her Facebook using it (the photo here is captioned: "aw #1 guido and guidette").

Since there is no way MTV is pulling this show from its programming schedule, don't these protesters realize the more they speak out against it, the more press (and viewers) it's going to get? Let's just all embrace the show, 'kay? If Samantha Micelli can do it, we all can.
