2004_08_artslsoh.jpgFour Broadway shows have posted closing notices, so Gothamist suggests you make hay while the sun is still shining if you have any interest in these productions. Tony-award winner Frozen and the musical Little Shop of Horrors will both close on Aug. 22, with Tony-nominated Caroline or Change following one week later on the 29th, and the Tony-winning musical The Boy From Oz shutting down shortly after on Sept. 12th.

Gothamist has seen all of these shows except for Frozen and while we can't give a bona fide recommendation for any of them, not having been blown away by any of the three we've seen, we do think Hugh Jackman deserved his Tony for Oz and really delivers an entertaining performance as the late entertainer Peter Allen. That said, we still can't get out of our head the scene where his dead boyfriend enters in white to sing a most sincere rendition of "Don't Cry Out Loud." We're still laughing at the memory of this and wonder if any Republicans will find their way to this show and this scene while they are in town. Meanwhile, if you have a hankering to see any of these or another Broadway show, you can find tickets at www.Broadway.com.
