Well, well, well. Apparently New Jersey residents—or the Bridge & Tunnel crowd, as some people call them when they infiltrate our fair city—have their own derogatory nicknames for out-of-towners visiting the Garden State. According to the Daily News, summer tourists at the Shore are called FOOTs, which stands for "Fucking Out-Of-Towners." They even have bumper stickers proclaiming "I Ain't No FOOT." Classy!

Other nicknames include Bennies (which stands for people from Bayonne, Elizabeth, Newark and New York) and Shoobies, which apparently is a reference to the days when New Yorkers packed their lunch in shoe boxes and hopped on a train to the Shore.

And the Asbury Park Press reports that the Jersey locals even recently celebrated "the end-of-summer reverse migration of tourists." Stay tuned for this Fall when they come knocking on our door for tourist dollars...
