If you're by the Javits Center this weekend, don't be surprised if you see groups of people donning capes--Comic Con is in town this weekend! The three-day annual event is in its third year in the Big Apple, giving the comic/sci-fi set a chance to geek out for a full three days.

The big names are coming into to town, too, The Daily News reports on the convention's roster: "'Spider-Man' creator Stan Lee, actress Eva Mendes, comics legend-turned-director Frank Miller, 'Hellboy' star Ron Perlman and cast members of the Sci-Fi Channel's 'Battlestar Galactica'."

Can New York compete with San Diego's massive, long-running Comic Con? Many, including Lee, seem to think so--perhaps a coastal battle is in order, we've already got the light sabers ready!

The Javits Center will give the estimated 49,000 attendees plenty of room for their elaborate costuming--this year, organizers rented an extra 100,000 square feet to avoid any overcrowding issues. If you'd like to be a part of it all, and tap into your inner Wookie, tickets are still on sale here--including ones for the New York Comics Legend Award ceremony, where Lee will be accepting the honor this year.
