If you've never circumnavigated Manhattan in a kayak at night, well, this Saturday, August 1st, is your big chance: HarborLAB leading a night circumnavigation, with all proceeds going to a good cause.
HarborLAB, a volunteer group that provides "canoeing and kayaking programs for ecological and social good," asks that participants donate $50 to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (HarborLAB doesn't take any revenue, as donations are made directly to the AFSP). The group notes, "Suicide is a top killer of soldiers and veterans, LGTBQ and minority youth, and the unemployed and underemployed."
There are only ten seats available, so take a look at details on HarborLAB's Facebook page. Plus, there will be a full moon for this voyage!
