Since 2008, Vicky Poumpouridis has been going full Clark Griswold on her Astoria home for Halloween. With some help from friends and family, she's back at it again this year with a new addition: an animatronic Freddy Krueger, from the best scary movie franchise of all time: A Nightmare On Elm Street.
This year, one of those friends, Amy Hsieh Wu, told Gothamist the display is "even bigger and better this year," with Freddy at center stage, "and two new glowing spiders inflated on the rooftop." (Check it out above.) Poumpouridis tells us they've been working on the display on the weekends this month "to get it all done."
The home is on 26th Street (between Ditmars Ave and 23rd Ave) in Astoria, so put it on your trick or treating route, they've got candy. And if you spot a stand-out display (like this one, or that one in Boerum Hill), send us a photo and location.
