The third and final phase of the High Line, aka "The High Line at the Rail Yards," is set to open in the Spring of 2014, with construction starting later this year. But if you want to see it before it reeks of Meatpacking District newness, they're briefly opening it up to visitors so they may bask in all of its neglected glory.

Prior to the construction taking place, the Friends of the High Line will open the elevated park "to a select group of visitors for self-guided tours," over two weekends in October (October 6th, 7th, 12th, and 13th) during the hours of 12 to 4 p.m., according to DNAInfo. This will be an extended Open House NY offering—so tickets the first weekend (during OHNY proper) will be $5 (these go on sale September 27th), and the second weekend you'll need to reserve a spot through the High Line's website (same date, starting at noon). Expect these to sell out faster than LCD Soundsystem's final show.

Here's a preview of what you'll be immersed in should get lucky and score a ticket.
