Outdoor movie season is upon us, and soon there will be free flicks screening all over the city. Today, the Central Park Conservancy announced its lineup, which will run Tuesday, August 25th through Saturday, August 29th. This year all the films are 35 years old—to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the conservancy's founding.
Tuesday, August 25—Fame:
Wednesday, August 26—The Blues Brothers:
Thursday, August 27—Airplane!:
Friday, August 28—Raging Bull:
Saturday, August 29—Superman II:
All films are screened in the landscape north of Sheep Meadow, near the cafe (mid-Park at 69th Street, at 8 p.m. rain of shine. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. and films will be closed-captioned. The Conservancy adds, "Attendees are welcome to bring a picnic and blanket for an even more enjoyable evening."
