Carnegie Hall presents Two Wings: The Music of Black America in Migration on Saturday, March 30 at 8 PM. In this one-night-only event, Jason Moran and Alicia Hall Moran present stirring tableaux, drawing upon their family history as they share the trials, tribulations, and triumphs of the Great Migration. Words and music come together as The New York Times best-selling author Isabel Wilkerson (The Warmth of Other Suns) joins outstanding musicians—such as Lawrence Brownlee, Toshi Reagon, Imani Winds, and more—for this powerful and deeply moving event.
Two Wings is part of Migrations: The Making of America, Carnegie Hall’s citywide festival which traces how large-scale movements of people—both to and within our country—have helped shape American arts, culture, and society. Together with more than 75 partner organizations across New York City, the festival comprises over 100 performances, exhibitions, talks and other events.
