The ticketed shows help subsidize the free ones, but keep in mind that many of the free shows reach capacity pretty quickly. (You're going to want to get there when the doors pop for New Pornographers, for starters.) Or, for a $100 tax-deductible donation, you can become a "Friend" of Celebrate Brooklyn, which lets you bypass the line and secure a reserved seat up front for the free shows.

Make special note of the July 30th, when Celebrate Brooklyn presents a "massive, site-specific, multi-screen installation" by the artist Clifford Ross. The Orchestra of St. Luke’s will perform live to accompany the piece, featuring works by Wojciech Kilar, Bryce Dessner, Vivaldi and John Adams, including selections from “The Four Seasons” and excerpts from “Shaker Loops."

Transportation Alternatives will once again provide valet bike parking sponsored by Spinlister, and The Farm on Adderley will be back serving its delicious vittles. Brooklyn-based company The Good Batch will also operate an onsite snack bar, serving handmade ice cream sandwiches, coffee ice cream floats, etc. Things get even more Brooklyn with the presence of Etsy NY, which will have artists on hand selling their adorably precious handmade merch.

N.B.: Bud Light is once again a major sponsor, which means Budweiser's variety of liquid alcohol products (Goose Island, maybe?) will be your only beer option. Be prepared to remove "no" from your vocabulary.
