2005_05_artscans.jpgThroughout the month of May the Food Bank for NYC is holding their annual CANS Film Festival. It's much better than Cannes (less travel and papparazzi) and of course beneficial to our city - as it's a fundraiser for their hunger awareness-raising campaign. You may have noticed some PSA's for the event by ChristopherMichael Imperioli. [Sidenote: Gothamist is having some trouble even remembering what happened to him in the season finale of the Sopranos last year.]

Our pick is the Breakfast at Tiffany's event, on May 22nd. It's one of our favorite movies and the $100 ticket gets you a champagne brunch, open bar, movie screening with gourmet goodie bag and a Tiffany & Co. surprise to take home. Not ever owning anything in one of those little blue boxes...we're quite tempted to go. Not a Breakfast at Tiffany's kind of gal/guy? Then remember there are plenty of other events and, most importantly, the ticket prices go toward a good cause.
