We're back with another Guess The Year challenge (everyone did a really good job guessing yesterday's!). So, can you guess which year—and even better, guess what neighborhood—this photo was taken in? We'll update later with the date, and more information. (P.S. If you cheat, we won't get mad, but we WILL be disappointed in you.)
UPDATE: This photo's caption, courtesy of the NYPL, reads: "Wood frame building with storefront: Fifth Avenue and Lincoln Place?, Brooklyn]" and it was taken in 1936. Assuming the cross streets are correct—here's what it looks like today, with a competitive bank (Chase) right on the corner. The Bowery Savings Bank was eventually bought up by Capital One—prior to that, from 1972 to 1992, Joe DiMaggio was spokesman.
