So, remember how the Coen brothers are working on a film about the 1960s folk scene in Greenwich Village? Well, now that production is getting under way, it's time for everyone's favorite game: Casting Rumors! And the biggest rumor of them all concerns none other than Justin Timberlake, who may be the only man alive capable of bringing sexy back to the folk scene (or bringing it for the first time ever).

Details are still hazy, but apparently Timberlake has been offered a "lead role" as a folk singer named Jim, who is married to a gal named Jean, played by Carey Mulligan. The movie is being called Inside Llewyn Davis, and the titular role, loosely based on '60s Village mainstay Dave Van Ronk, will be played by Oscar Isaac (Drive). Do you smell the Oscars yet?

If J. Timb does accept, the world can only hope that he'll get a chance to bust out his sweet acoustic chops and rock the boho look to its full potential. Look at how adorable he was as an academic in Bad Teacher! Filming is scheduled to start in early 2012 in New York.
