Bushwick music venue and artist collective Silent Barn was seriously damaged in a fire last night, leaving residents displaced and shows shuffled as organizers scramble to get the space back in shape.

According to the FDNY, a fire broke out on the third floor of 603 Bushwick Avenue at around 10:36 p.m. last night—a spokesperson with Silent Barn, which houses musicians and artists in addition to providing a gallery and venue space, says the blaze originated in a resident's room, cause unknown. Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames shortly after 11 p.m., but the whole building sustained damage as a result.

There were no injuries, but residents have been displaced, and at least two residents' belongings were completely destroyed. Tonight's show, Modular Equinox, has been moved to The Schoolhouse at 330 Ellery Street, but the collective is still trying to determine its next steps. They're soliciting donations on their website to aid those who lost belongings and hope to find volunteers who can help clean and renovate the damaged space.

"All of our members came together in a profoundly beautiful way last night (as always), that reassures me that we will have a bright future and put the pieces back together as soon as possible," member Chrissy Reilly told us in an email.

In 2011, Silent Barn's then-DIY space in Ridgewood permanently shuttered after it was brutally vandalized and burglarized—they reopened in Bushwick in 2013, complete with proper zoning permits.

We'll update when more information becomes available.
