Last year we swooned over a firefighter writing a romance novel, now a Brooklyn cop has penned a Christmas novel! According to the Daily News, the heartwarming tale is about his years in the 67th Precinct in Flatbush, but specifically Lt. Dave Siev's annual gift drive which the book is named for, Operation: Blue Christmas. He has sold about 200 copies (to fellow officers, mostly), and now he's hoping to get a big book deal.
Juan Rodriguez is one of his fellow officers helping to sell the book. His sales pitch? "I say to the guys, 'This is a true story by my Lieutenant from the boxing team, he wrote this book—now give me the 15 bucks or I'll knock you out.'" We hear that's how Hemingway originally sold off copies, too.
