andy_borowitz.jpgGothamist has talked up the virtues of PSNBC before for it's quality shows and ability to scout out great talent. Tonight, PSNBC Presents Andy Borowitz at the Marquee Theatre (356 Bowery between E. 3rd and E. 4th streets) at 8pm. While Borowitz has been around for a while, his political satire has been prominent in the media recently and he has gotten wide attention from his website, The Borowitz Report, but we still remember him best from his days as one of the creators of The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

CBGB’s hosts Random Acts, a night of improvised and sketch comedy on Wednesday night. Improv groups America! and Filibuster perform as well as our favorite all-girl cover band, Stickerbook. Composed of actresses, writers and comedians, Stickerbook is already a talented group. But on top of all that they have a theremin player and wear costumes. And honestly, you haven’t heard Aerosmith’s “What It Takes” if you haven’t heard it performed on a theremin.
Random Acts – CBGB’s Gallery (313 Bowery @ Bleecker)
Wednesday June 1 - 8:30 pm - $5

2005_05_artsaziz.jpgAnyone who saw Aziz Ansari perform early this year noticed his hand wrapped in a cast. And you may have been wondering what happened. Can I find out the back story to exactly why Aziz is temporarily crippled? The answer lies in the title of his newest show, Aziz Ansari Punched A Wall. Gothamist caught this show when it debuted last month and we just have to say his lovelorn mix tape puts High Fidelity to shame.

Aziz Ansari Punched a Wall @ UCB Theater (307 W. 26th Street)
Saturdays in June @ 7:30 (Note, No Show June 11) - $8
