Hot on the heels of winning the award that is closest to the Nobel Peace Prize, U2's Bono and The Edge are scheduled to perform on American Idol's Wednesday finale with the cast of everyone's favorite Broadway musical, Spider- Man: Please Make The Pain Stop Turn Off the Dark.

U2 received Billboard's Top Touring Artist Award after performing in front of more than 7 million people, and U2's manager told Billboard that "It's more important to be the best rather than the biggest, but I think they've managed to be both." He then presumably dived into an Olympic-sized swimming pool full of crisp $100 bills, as Bono softly crooned the lyrics to "Sunday Bloody Sunday" from a pool villa made entirely out of Louis Vuitton bags and self-righteousness.

Wednesday's show will pit Idol finalists Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina against one another in what is the wrap-up to the shows 10th (!) season. Here's hoping that there's plenty of "malfunctions" to make this one interesting, since the Green Goblin was eliminated in week three.
