Today, the Times runs an absolutely incredible, no-this-is-not-a-joke "trend" piece about the "rise" in cat agility contests. It's worth reading in its entirety, for these quotes alone: “When we first started it, everybody said, ‘Train a cat? Impossible!’ ” and "I think we let cats’ brains rot, and I think it’s really sad."

To catch some cats in action, head over to the Meet The Breeds show at the Javits Center this weekend (which we previewed today!), where The International Cat Association will be on hand with sparkly feather wands. Oh, and check out the names of some of the previous feline agility winners: "Wyndchymes Dream Weaver of Hajja," anyone?
