Bummed that your favorite local sports team has cleared your evening schedule for the forseeable future? At 6 p.m. tonight, you can replace disappointment with awe, as more than 28 ships create a parade on the Hudson off Pier 62. It's a fraction of the length of a baseball game, and way more fast-paced too!
Sponsored by the Metropolitan Waterfront Alliance, a group of businesses who want to make the city's waterways "cleaner and more accessable," the parade will feature Coast Guard vessels, yachts, fireboats, and oodles more boat-porn for your pleasure. All of the vessels will remain together at 6:22 p.m.—tonight's scheduled sunset—so have your cameras ready.
