Although December 23rd has become the de facto date to celebrate Festivus—the world's most important Seinfeld spin-off holiday that may or may not be associated with The Human Fund—it really should be celebrated any damn time you want, in the spirit that originator (and sitcom writer) Dan O'Keefe's father did it: "Whenever the hell [he] felt like it, September to May. One year there was none. One year, there were two."

In that spirit, BBQ Films has gotten the pole out of the crawl space and is hosting a special Festivus event at Arlene's Grocery tonight!

Even more miraculous: it's actually a holiday company party that they're opening up to their friends and fans. "We will be celebrating with a traditional airing of grievances, feats of strength, and lots of 90s sitcom references. Come as your favorite TV character or simply wear your Festivus best and help us kick off the season Costanza-style!" they write. "Please note: This Festivus not your typical BBQ Films event and it’s not your average holiday party—it’s simply a Festivus for the rest of us. We will not be doing a formal seated screening at this party, but we do guarantee a great time."

The event goes from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Arlene's Grocery tonight; tickets cost $15 and are available here. But before you head over there, brush up on your Festivus history:
