Can you believe that one year ago we were were smack dab in the middle of Banksy's one month open air residency here in New York? Happy Banksyversary! Every day the elusive street artist surprised the city with a new piece of art—from the moving Sirens of the Lambs truck to a Central Park booth. But wait, there's more. A documentary on the whole thing, called Banksy Does New York, is premiering here next month.
According to Complex, Chris Moukarbel's Banksy Does New York doc will air on HBO on November 17th, but will actually premiere on a bigger screen at the DOC NYC Festival on November 14th. Moukarbel says, "I crowd-sourced footage that New Yorkers posted online each day of the month. It was about a city holding a mirror back up to the artist."
You can buy tickets to the premiere, which will be held at the SVA Theatre on 23rd Street, online.
