Following the controversial song choice ("Lyin' Ass Bitch") for Republican presidential Michele Bachmann's November appearance on Jimmy Fallon recently, The Roots drummer Questlove says he's now "gotta clear a lot of the song choices" with NBC first. Adding, "It's still a comedy show, so they promise not to step on my toes or that type of thing, but they definitely want to know the title of the song, the subject matter of the song, can it be seen as an insult."

The drummer apologized afterwards, saying: "so sorry about the intro mess." The mess seems to have been planned, however, as he told Rolling Stone one week earlier: “I’m gunning for Bachmann... looking up walk-on songs for next week’s shows. I want to try and do Fishbone’s ‘Lyin’ Ass Bitch.’ I just don’t know if I’m gonna tell Jimmy.” Following the incident, Fallon Tweeted, "@Questlove is grounded."

Apologies didn't stop Tea Party extremists from barraging the drummer's Twitter account, though. In another interview he described the aftermath: "Blocking 3,500 Tea Party extremists in a three-day period is no fun, especially when you're a drummer dangerously close to carpal tunnel. In the end, was it worth it? Absolutely not." But who will stop Bachmann from being mean?:
