The Rubik's Cube turns 40 this year, and in celebration a massive floating replica of it will be floating down the Hudson River tomorrow. Sure, why not. Here it is:

The cube, courtesy of the Liberty Science Center, will be guided down the Hudson by a tugboat on Friday. Expect to see it between the hours of 6 and 11 a.m.—here's the schedule:

6 a.m.: Depart from Staten Island’s Miller’s Launch at Pier 7 ½

7 a.m. to 8 a.m.: Arrive northeast side of Statue of Liberty

10 a.m.: Tow the Cube upstream to approx. Hoboken’s Pier A

10 to 11 a.m.: Return to Staten Island

The Liberty Science Center, located in Jersey City, will go on to celebrate the Rubik's Cube, and its inventor, all weekend—they claim to have "built the world's first museum exhibition about the Rubik's Cube." There will be cake.
