Brooklyn Bridge Park didn't begin construction until just a few years ago, in 2008. Since then, it's transformed into a gorgeous oasis with expansive views of Lower Manhattan, with a pedestrian bridge, soccer fields, and perfect picnic spots. But what did it look like in the mid-1970s, before residents of DUMBO even started to call the neighborhood by that acronym? (That didn't happen until around 1978.)
