Considering how pissed the collective media is over its treatment by the NYPD, it is comforting to know that Time's Up! activist Barbara Ross wasn't the only citizen journalist to successfully stand up to the police while being intimidated in the past week. Two days after she stood her ground as Zuccotti Park was cleared, Yes Man Igor Vamos was told to move by the NYPD—and he successfully refused. Watching NYPD officers slowly realize that they don't have a legal leg to stand on and that they are being filmed by a dozen cameras as well as jeered by folks screaming "the whole world is watching?" Priceless.

Trader Tells BBC "I Dream Of Another Recession" Every Night, Denies Being A Yes Man
Yesterday, a trader in London appeared during an interview on BBC and said, "I go to bed every night and dream of another recession," after pointing out, "For most traders we don't really care about having a fixed economy, having a fixed situation, our job is to make money from" the economic woes in Europe. Independent trader Alessio Rastani added, "The governments don't rule the world - Goldman Sachs rules the world." You can watch him shock the presenters here:
Whole Foods Invaded by Angry Yes Men Movie Audience
The team behind the Yes Men movie are doing a great job getting audiences at Film Forum to participate in direct-action stunts after the screenings. On Wednesday night organizers persuaded most people in the audience to head over to a nearby Chase bank and write political stuff on the sidewalk with coal—because JP Morgan Chase underwrites Massey Energy, which does a lot of mountaintop removal coal mining. Anyway, last night they kicked it up a notch.
Yes Man Arrested, NY Post "Flattered" by Hoax
Yes Men co-founder Andy Bichlbaum was arrested this morning while demonstrating one of the group's post-apocalyptic SurvivaBalls, described as "a self-contained living system—truly, a gated community for one. If you have a SurvivaBall, even if everyone else is dying, at least you can weather all storms." A spokesperson tells us that Bichlbaum was at Stuy Cove Park, just north of East 20th Street on the East River, wearing a SurvivaBall along with twenty others similarly ensconced. There were about 40 spectators, and so the NYPD, acting on NYC's unconstitutional parade permit law, arrived to break up the citizens' peaceful assembly.
NY Post Gets Yes Men Treatment
After last November's fake New York Times treatment, lefty political pranksters The Yes Men are back with a fake "Special Climate Edition" of the New York Post. The front page story, "WE'RE SCREWED," covers, in Bizarro-world Post fashion, the catastrophic events which the scientific community expects humanity to endure due to climate change. You can read it all online here, but the culture jammers have also distributed 1 million copies of the print edition city-wide.
A Few More Fake New York Times Details
The elaborate fake New York Times stunt may have cost up to $250,000. Though the group claiming responsibility for printing and distributing over one million copies of a July 4, 2009 edition says their costs were $100,000, the NY Post's experts believe that printing a 14-page, 4-color paper are closer to a quarter million for that many copies.
