Well, that was a short winter. No snow, but enough numbing cold to make us mumble a series of words that the prudish Times would never dare print. The high pressure system that brought us the abbreviated winter has moved eastward. The bonechilling northerly breezes have been replaced with milder westerly winds. In our year in review we forgot to mention that, in addition to being the sixth warmest year on record, last year was also the sixth wettest. Nearly sixty inches of precipitation fell on Central Park in 2006. That's nowhere near the rainiest year on record –80 inches in 1983, but about ten inches greater than average. By comparison, "rainy" Seattle only averages around 36 inches of precipitation a year. Today's precipitation will feature......
