A law professor and a law student at Yale University wrote an op-ed piece in the Times this morning decrying the NYPD's stop-and-frisk program, a program which has come under quite a bit of fire this year. In a piece entitled "Better Ways to Police Than Stop-and-Frisk," James Forman Jr., a clinical professor at Yale Law School, and Trevor Stutz, a third year law student who is a member of Forman's Innovations in Policing Clinic, argued that stopping and frisking random selections of young, predominantly black men is not the only method to decrease violence in minority neighborhoods, nor is it the most effective one.

Science: Lose Weight By Pretending Your Food Is Extra Fatty
A recent study informed us that negative images of fat people help perpetuate obesity's bad reputation and may contribute to obesity itself. But you know what apparently helps fight the fat? Your brain. According to a different study, believing the food you eat is high in calories can help you surpress your appetite.
We Are Why You Are Fat
Seeing unattractive photos of fat people in the media is (part of) why you are fat, according to a new study out of Yale's Rudd Center for Food Policy and Obesity. According to the researchers, online news sources tend to use negative images of overweight people in stories about obesity (i.e. eating fast food, wearing tight clothes or shown with their heads cut off) and those images in turn perpetuate obesity's bad reputation, which may contribute to obesity itself.

Video: Yale Frat Boys Chant "No Means Yes, Yes Means Anal"
Ah, college in New England in October: A time of tossing footballs on leafy campus quads, flasks of bourbon passed around at the football game, and screaming along with your fellow fraternity pledges about rape and sodomy.
