- Sunday evening at McCarren Park is the finals for Brooklyn Kickball. Not only will the winners of Sunday's game get to take home the Chuck D trophy, they will also be able to say they have the best hipster kickball team in all of New York City. The final four are: Tigers, Burninators (the defending champs), John Cougar Mellencamps (they wear cut off jeans), and NYC Fun Club. Semi-final games are at 7 and 8 p.m. with the winner from each playing in the final at 9. Because adults playing kickball in fabulous outfits isn't entertaining enough, music will be provided by the Williamsburg Greenpoint Orchestra.

Gothamist has been to way too many Tribeca Film Festival movies since it started a little more than a week ago. So many in fact that we almost dread having purchased all those tickets. Last night though, we were happy we purchased tickets for Air Guitar Nation, a wonderful documentary that chronicles the first US Air Guitar Championships and the quest to become the first American to be the world champion. The final screening of Air Guitar Nation is a midnight screening tonight at the AMC Loews on 34th St. While tickets are door sales only right now, Gothamist highly recommends heading over early and trying to get into this movie. It's easily the best movie we've seen at the festival this year (we've seen 5 at this point).

Another year, another slogan for the Mets. This year's: "The Team. The Year." Indeed it seems like that's the company line so far. At yesterday's "Workout Day," Cliff Floyd and David Wright both mentioned bringing a World Series to Queens. It was a notion that proved to be very popular with the 13,000 plus fans on hand. Perhaps it was the constant reminders that 2006 is the 20th Anniversary of the World Champion '86 Mets that was getting everyone excited or maybe it was the sun. But for a Mets fan, when you look at the moves during the off-season, you can't help but think the 2006 Mets have a chance.

Six years after announcing Baseball's [no-Latino] All-Century team, Major League Baseball unveiled their "Latino Legends" team before last night's World Series game. The team was selected by fan voting with several local players making the team, Pedro Martinez of the Mets, Alex "I'm a Dog" Rodriguez and Mariano Rivera of the Yankees, Manny Ramirez who despite not wanting to play for the Mets and being on the Red Sox, is actually from Washington Heights, and former Seattle Mariner Edgar Martinez, who was born in New York.

The Spurs are led by Tim Duncan, their multi-talented Center. Duncan has been the MVP of both NBA Finals he has been in and is currently averaging almost 25 points a game in the playoffs. Duncan had been hobbled earlier in the playoffs with an ankle injury, but he increased his scoring in each round of the playoffs and will have had ten days to rest by the time the Finals start on Thursday.

April 11-20 is Brooklyn's restaurant week -- Dine in Brooklyn. Close to 200 Brooklyn restaurants will offer three-course meals for a mere $19.55, in honor of the 1955 World Champion Brooklyn Dodgers. The website lists participating restaurants, broken down by neighborhood (how convenient!). Winner of the Time Out New York Eat Out Award for Best New Brooklyn Restaurant, Stone Park Cafe in Park Slope, is on the list and many restaurants are offering lunch specials as well. So, if you're one of those people who treat Brooklyn like a second-class city, get off your borough-phobic ass and go dine in Brooklyn. You won't regret it.
