A Brooklyn barbershop owner was shot in the head and killed by a gunman in front of customers in his shop yesterday. Warren Billings, 38, was shot one time in his shop on Cortelyou Road near Flatbush Ave. at approximately 4 p.m. on Saturday. While discussing the death of a 23-year-old woman who was brutally beaten and raped in a Flushing alley, Assemblywoman Grace Meng told NY1, based on witnesses and surveillance video, "At least three people were seen to have watched the beating and the assault and did not scream, did not yell for help, did not do anything. I myself have been really disappointed and angry." One witness did call 911 and police were able to arrest Carlos Salazar Cruz. Sources tell NY1 that three witnesses heard the officer who fatally shot an armed, plainclothes off-duty officer In Harlem Thursday night identify himself as NYPD. Those three witnesses include the two other cops who arrived on the scene with officer Andrew who fired and the car break-in suspect that slain Officer Omar Edwards was chasing, Migueal Goitia.
