This weekend is the official kickoff of the first annual NYC Food Film Festival at Water Taxi Beach. This weekend features regional american burgers and asparagus, with Hamburger America (for those of you who missed our QBQ Burger Bash last year), Asparagus! A Stalk-Umentary, and more, including your chance to taste the famed green chile cheeseburger. Drool. You can find the full schedule here.

Join Chef Marc Taxiera as he prepares a six-course tasting menu highlighting the latest vintage of Beppe’s proprietary olive oil crafted by Matteo Baroni of Fattoria delle Fornacelle. This olive oil is hard core: it's made of Moraiolo (comprising most of the blend), Leccino, and Frantoio olives, hand-picked in late October. It has been granted the ‘Chianti Classico DOP’ designation (Denominazione di Origine Protetta – ‘Protected Appellation’), based on the DOC for the namesake wine. Strict regulations govern every step of the production process, from the picking, storing, cleaning, and pressing to the labeling and composition of the oil. $60, 45 East 22nd Street. It has always been one of our dreams to live in Spain. Be it the food, the wine or the flamenco dancing, this magical land, home of the siesta, has always held a special place in our hearts. While we haven’t been able to pack up and move just yet, we got a little taste of it recently at the P.J. Wines Spanish Wine Festival. It may have been a tease, but it sure whet our appetite for Spanish wines.
