The Apollo Theater announced that Chaka Khan will perform a tribute to Whitney Houston at its Spring Gala next month. One of Houston's hits from The Bodyguard was a cover of Chaka Khan's "I'm Every Woman" (written by Nick Ashford and Valerie Simpson). Houston and Khan, who were friends, performed it at the 1999 VH1 Divas concert:

Artist Recreates Whitney Houston's Last Meal For NYC Exhibit
Following Whitney Houston's death in February, photos of her last meal were published by TMZ. A table had been set up in Houston's hotel room where she was served a hamburger, fries, a turkey sandwich and jalepenos, along with champagne and Heineken. She later took some of that food on a tray into the bathroom, to presumably finish the meal in the bathtub where she would later die. Now the NY Times reports that this scene (which they describe as "gruesome") from the Beverly Hilton Hotel has been recreated by photographer Thomas Demand.

Last night her interview with Oprah Winfrey aired on OWN, where she said on the last day her mother was alive, she "slept in her arms all night and all day long.” She also says she's had visitations from her mother since she's died—"Lights turn on and off, and I'm like, 'Mom, what are you doing?'"
Whitney Houston Left 100% Of Estate To Troubled Daughter, Bobbi Kristina
Yesterday it was revealed that Whitney Houston left 100% of her estate to her daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown. The 19-year-old was the only person listed on her Last Will and Testament, which Houston signed in 1993, a month before her daughter was born, and amended in April 2000. While Houston was still with Bobby Brown at the time she amended it, and he is mentioned in the will, he'll receive nothing.

Target Pulls Greeting Card Mocking Whitney Houston
Prior to Whitney Houston's death, Target had a greeting card on their shelves that read: "Next time you think of dating the bad boy, consider Whitney Houston. That's all I'm going to say." (Who even sends cards like this?) The product remained on their shelves following the singer's death on February 11th, but according to TMZ, they've now pulled it.
Governor Chris Christie: "People Get Beer Muscles On Twitter"
When NJ Governor Chris Christie announced he was lowering flags to half-staff on the day of Whitney Houston's funeral, he was slammed by Twitterers who felt it was too inappropriate. So Christie took to the social networking service to respond to people, "@steakprincess Flag being lowered for her cultural contributions as an artist & New Jerseyan. Her struggles w/substance abuse r a diff topic" (@steakprincess had written "@GovChristie are you serious? Whitney is no hero, she was a crack head who killed herself. Our flag is not to be lowered for a junkie.) Today Christie said, "People get beer muscles on Twitter."
The Bodyguard Is Now A British Musical, Featuring Every Whitney Hit
England, the place that brought us Andrew Lloyd Weber, Ghost The Musical and the straight play of The Graduate (to name just a few of its, uh, gifts) is at it again. Just in time for Whitney-mania, some clever producers are ramping up production of a musical version of The Bodyguard and, as Michael Musto notes, the whole thing is going to be a Whitney Houston jukebox musical. So you can bet your bottom dollar it is going to come to the Great White Way soon enough.

In fact, one Michigan man was so furious over the honor he went and bought a New Jersey flag and burned it on his outdoor grill in protest.
Who Cares If Whitney Houston Was A Lesbian?
With Whitney Houston buried, it's time for the media to dig up her skeletons! And if there is one persistent rumor the singer spent years fighting, it was that she was a lesbian—"I am a mother, not a lesbian. I am not gay," she said in a 2000 interview. Well, here it comes again. Peter Tatchell has taken to the Daily Mail to bring back the argument that Whitney's fall from grace wasn't caused by her marriage to Bobby Brown—it came with the self-repression she suffered by dropping her female lover for Brown.

After a star-studded funeral yesterday that was livestreamed over the internet and watched by hundreds of thousands of people, Whitney Houston will be buried today in a much more private ceremony in Westfield, NJ. Of course, it isn't completely private: TMZ does have a "livestream" at the cemetery, although at least they're keeping enough of a distance that all one can see is a police car and a few trees.

Video: Kevin Costner's Moving Memorial To Whitney Houston
Friends and family alike paid tribute to Whitney Houston today at an emotional ceremony at the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, NJ. Perhaps the most moving speech came from actor Kevin Costner, who shared anecdotes about their time working together on the movie The Bodyguard, how they bonded over tales of growing up in Baptist churches, and what her loss means to him: "You weren't just pretty, you were as beautiful as a woman could be. People didn't just like you, Whitney. They loved you. I was your pretend bodyguard once not so long ago, and now you're gone, too soon, leaving us with memories."
Westboro Idiots Lie About Protesting Whitney Houston's Funeral
The whiny, bigoted, inbred members of the Westboro Baptist Church are infamous for picketing military funerals to prove some point about pushing the boundaries of the First Amendment, because that's what their Jesus would want, or something. But today, they broke the Ninth Commandment when Margie Phelps, the daughter of church founder Fred Phelps, tweeted a photo purporting to show the church's protest in front of Whitney Houston's funeral in Newark. However, reporters for the Star-Ledger "confirmed no active protests were occurring in the place depicted by the photograph."

Whitney Houston's home, which she shared with Bobby Brown (and where Being Bobby Brown was filmed in 2005), is now on the market for $1.97 million. The house is located at 22 North Gate Road in fancy Mendham Township, New Jersey, and is next to another home she had just sold in in 2010. The mansion was put on the market before Houston's death, however, and possibly because she was on the road to bankruptcy.

All of the below videos are 100% guaranteed to give you goose bumps, from a 1976 recording of her singing at her Newark church, to the best "Star Spangled Banner" the country will ever hear:

John Norris Shares His MTV Memories Of Whitney Houston
I guess I would just say that in any case like this (Michael for instance) my first thought is with someone's kids. In 1993 Whitney and Bobby took me into the nursery of their Miami condo to see a sleeping Bobbi Kristina in her crib. They could not have been happier.more ›

Video of the Day: Hillary Clinton Gets Verklempt
Now that Hillary Clinton's campaign seems to be struggling in the wake of Change (with a capital C!), everyone's trying to figure out what her seemingly verklempt moment with a group of women at a Portsmouth, NH event means. When asked how she does it, how she gets her act together day after day on the campaign trail (the questioner mentioned how Clinton's hair always looked so coiffed), Clinton seemed to get teary as she answered. You can see the full response above, but here's some of it:
"You know, I think, well luckily, on special days I do have help. If you see me every day and if you look on some of the websites and listen to some of the commentators they always find me on the day I didn't have help. It's not easy...more ›
WCBS Does An About Face Back to Oldies
WCBS is offing Jack FM, the station format it abrubtly switched to two years ago, and turning back the clock to its former oldies format. The 2005 switch upset a lot of listeners, who were outraged both at the loss of a long-beloved source of classics and the abruptness of the change, which occurred with only an hour's notice. It also led to the immediate dismissal of well-liked on air personalities like Cousin Brucie, Don Ingram, Bob Shannon, and Harry Harrison, who were replaced with a pre-recorded voiceover that nattered slogans and one-liners.
