The man accused of stabbing an 8-year-old boy in the back at the Dave & Buster's in Westbury, Long Island has pleaded not guilty to charges including attempted murder. However, prosecutors say that Evan Sachs, 23, was carrying a note explaining his attack—Assistant DA Daniel Looney told the Post, "The note states what his intentions were that evening -- to harm somebody."

LI Restaurant Owner Allegedly Assaulted Teen Worker
The Nassau County Police say that a Bellmore restaurant owner was arrested after assaulting a 16-year-old female worker. According to the Long Island Press, "Police said [Mermat] Arslan, who is the owner of Mediterranean Kebab Restaurant [in Westbury], was closing up the restaurant after all the cooks and servers had left when he locked the doors to the building knowing a young girl was still inside at 10:30 p.m. Thursday. Mister Softee Busted For Being Mister Druggie
A Mister Softee ice cream truck driver on Long Island was arrested Saturday after undercover narcotics officers saw him park his truck outside a drug dealer's house they had under surveillance. Police say Kenneth Leiton, 22, rolled up to the home around 4 p.m. and entered the house to conduct a drug deal. He then returned to the truck, turned the music back on, and continued along his route. According to the Post, the cops soon "stopped him cold" and found several small bags of coke and a bag of pot hidden in the sprinkles. He's charged with numerous counts of possession of a controlled substance and with endangering the welfare of a child. Also arrested was Randall Surmanek, 23, who was riding in the truck with Leiton, and two individuals at the drug house. Police tell Newsday Leiton was not the truck owner, but it's still another black eye for Mister Softee—earlier this summer a Softee franchisee was accused of threatening to beat a Kool Man driver for invading "his" turf in Queens. And don't even get us started on the jingle wars.
No Service Dog Allowed: Principal Defies Ruling
In violation of a ruling by New York State's Human Rights Division, the principal of W. Tresper Clarke High School stood in the schoolhouse doorway and refused entrance to 15-year-old John Cave yesterday, as long as he had his service dog with him. Cave is a deaf teenager with cochlear implants, and this week, the state's Human Rights Division Commissioner Kumiki Gibson declared the school violated two provisions of the Human Rights law (PDF) and ordered that Cave and his service dog Simba be allowed in school.
