High Line Hits Milestone

The High Line claims it got their 2 millionth visitor on Thursday, since opening to the public last June. In some sort of made-up ceremony, they dubbed Zach and Lexi Hauser (a brother, 12, and sister, 9) from North Carolina the co-2 millionth visitor. The Post notes that workers have been counting visitors daily, and a Parks spokeswoman explained, "They were a representation of 2 million. It was not necessarily exact. It was an informed estimate." more ›

Domino Sugar Factory Opens Gates to Public Sunday

      

The waterfront property at the Domino Sugar Factory in Williamsburg will be open to the public for the first time in over a century this Sunday. Refinery, LLC, the developer who plans to convert the landmarked refinery into residential units, is inviting everyone over for free refreshments and a chance to take in the East River views. The plan is to have more of these events in the spring and give the community a taste of what's to come when developer completes a planned five-block-long esplanade on the property. more ›
