Tupac Shakur may have been dead for almost 18 years, but soon he'll be coming back to life...on Broadway? Yup, a new Tupac musical, Holler If Ya Hear Me, has started casting for actors for a series of workshops set to run later this spring with an eye on an eventual Broadway production.

Man Confesses To Shooting Tupac, Igniting East Coast/West Coast War
On the eve of what would have been rapper Tupac Shakur's 40th birthday, a man has confessed to shooting the legendary rapper in 1994, inadvertently setting off the feud which would eventually claim both Tupac and Biggie Smalls's lives. Dexter Isaac, who is currently serving a life sentence at MDC Brooklyn for separate charges, confessed that he was paid $2,500 dollars by James "Jimmy Henchman" Rosemond to rob Tupac inside Manhattan's Quad Studios on November 30, 1994. Check out his full confession, which he gave to AllHipHop.com, here.
Biggie vs. Tupac, Tip Jar Edition
Like the Beatles vs. the Stones, Lindsay Lohan vs. sobriety, and 99 Cent Fresh Pizza vs. Ray's Pizza, some rivalries are truly timeless. And with the investigation into the murder of Bed-Stuy rapper Christopher Wallace, aka Biggie Smalls/The Notorious B.I.G., having been recently reopened, the Biggie vs. Tupac debate is just as relevant as ever. Even Babycakes is getting in on the action.
Sabatino Suckered LA Times? FBI Reports Implicating Diddy Don't Exist
Last week's LA Times article about the Tupac shooting of 1994 (occurring just two years before his murder), led to a lot of chatter about the rapper's death and those who may have been involved. The finger was now being pointed at Sean "Diddy" Combs, who maintained he was not involved.
Diddy Didn't Shoot Tupac...or Diddy?
Though the mystery has never been solved, many have attached Sean "Diddy" Combs and Christopher Wallace (Biggie Smalls/The Notorious B.I.G.) to the 1994 attack and 1996 killing of Tupac Shakur -- sparking an East Coast/West Coast rap war, leading to Biggie's 1997 murder and escalating the "no snitching" policy into law. The accusation even came from Tupac himself after the attack in 1994.
Five Years Later, Jam Master Jay's Murderer Walks the Streets
Next week, Halloween eve to be exact, will mark the five year anniversary of Jam Master Jay's death. The murderer still walks the streets, as witnesses don't want to step forward in naming the man who ended the life of the rap legend.
Times Weddings By The Numbers: ID Thievery!
With all the news of identity theft, of course it would have to hit couples who are getting married. The Post has an alarming story about a number of couples who, when applying for a marriage license, have found themselves already "married." It's believed that thieves use other people's identities to get marriage licenses and green cards. Denise Daskalkis "filed two appeals, multiple petitions, and attended a hearing at the Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings," calling the two-year process hell while a Laura Berrios was "denied a domestic partnership with her lesbian lover because she had supposedly been married - to a man - for a decade." Berrios dryly said to the Post, "I've been out of the closet since I was 16. Trust me, I never have and never will get married [to a man]."
Civil Rights Lawyer, Cops Scuffle in Prospect Heights
Something we're positive you'll be hearing more about in the next few days: Civil rights lawyer Michael Warren and his wife Evelyn were arrested after they allegedly interfered with a police arrest at Atlantic and Vanderbilt Avenues in Brooklyn. Warren, who has represented Tupac Shakur, members of the Black Panthers and Abner Louima, said, "I got hit in the jaw, upside the head and on my lip a few times, and you can can see that my pants are torn, but I'm fine. I'm great."
Suspect Named Five Years After Jam Master Jay Murder
Ronald "Tinard" Washington has been named as a suspect in the killing of Jason Mizell (aka Jam Master Jay). Though an arrest in the case isn't expected anytime soon, this is the first publicly announced suspect to be made in this case - something Jay's family members are happy about.

Thug4Life: Becoming Tupac
Have you ever wondered if you could transform your slightly overweight, very near-sighted, and extremely white self into Tupac Shakur? No, neither did we, but Brooklyn-based artist Tom Sanford (fellow Columbia University alum) is asking that question as well as documenting the answer his new blog, Thug4Life. The last we heard, Tom was in the Columbia alumni newsletter - word had it he was creating "rap star pietas." That is, paintings of rap stars in the guise of Jesus Christ on the cross. Yeah. Not surprisingly, the work sold very well in Japan, where Tom seems to enjoy a cult following.
