Home Sweet Home

Gothamist has been enjoying this series against Pittsburgh. For one, YES broadcaster Michael Kay has taken three games off, leaving the booth open to the more charming Bobby Murcer. Anytime we can watch baseball games without Kay's pseudo-insight, we're better off. more ›

Error Ends Mets Homestand with Loss

Yesterday's loss came after a thrilling victory on Saturday night which saw an inside the park home run by Marlon Anderson and a game winning three-run homer by Cliff Floyd. Mike Piazza had an RBI double, Cliff Floyd had a two run homer, and Wright added his own two-run home run before the inning was over. The 5 run inning was the 7th time the Mets have scored 5 runs in an inning this season. more ›

Contreras Sharp, Yanks Win

Contreras Sharp, Yanks Win

Pitching was the key to the Yankee win last night. After Contreras left the game, Paul Quantrill (who is on pace to pitch in every Yankee game this season) pitch 2/3 of an inning before handing over the reigns to Mariano Rivera for the final five outs. The Devil Rays were held to one run on six hits. more ›
